I confirmed with Winnebago. The 2015's are currently being built with the Power gear in-wall slides and the the HWHlevelers. The is only for the Grand Tour and Ultra Ellipse.
This was an "inline" in November.

Thanks Dennis

The pictures of the 2015 Tours and Journey 42E (not other models though) at Lazydays looked to have the Power Gear units, or at least they did not have the Schwintek gear strip mounted to the slide box. I wonder if they are going to (or even can) retrofit those having issues with the old system?

I had HWH with power extend/spring retract and was not really happy with them, many issues. I see many complaints about Lippert jacks, but I have been happy with mine. Don't know if I would go back to HWH.

No they currently cannot be retrofitted because the opening needs to be larger. I am sure Lippert and others are looking at some options but it would require some re-engineering. That always takes some time.
I did have one bad piston that Winnebago replaced but I also love the Lippert Levelers. But HWHlevelers are also good. They no longer have the weak spring problem.

I have had three coaches with HWH jack. Cleaning them from time to time is the biggest solution to most of the problems of retraction. The upgraded springs definitely help. When clean they retract in under 5 min. Not a bad time.

So far my PowerGear slides seem to be functioning well. I had HWH on my '05 and we had many issues with that system. I did have an issue with the travel locks not working on this coach. I just upgraded to the motor and thrust washer kit. If caught early it is a warranty item. The previous owner didn't and I did not know I had a problem when I bought the coach. I goofed. Other than that, PG has been working fine.

Jesse,

I picked up my Journey today and checked out the kitchen slide. There are 8 rollers supporting the kitchen slide on the 2014. There was also a 2015 42E, the same amount of rollers, but PowerGear slide mechanism. All other 2015 Journeys still have Schwintek.

Does anyone recall reading posts in another thread a year or so ago about the factory doing roller upgrades on the earlier QD series?

When I get into better weather I am going to take a better look at my slides.

42e now comes with the 450hp. Hopefully they have fixed the slide issue. Mine is supposed to be here tomorrow.

Congratulations, welcome to the club. We love ours They did change the slide mechanism on the DS sildes from the Schwintek. The 2015 I saw also had a much bigger window over the coach, really nice...

I wonder about the power increase, the torque rating is the same, 1250 lbft. I am happy with the 400hp no issues pulling my PT up hills on I-81.

Probably not much power diff. Both have 1250 lb torque at 1200 but torque is in direct relation to hp and rpm. So as the hp increases so does torque. At 2100 rpm theres about 75 ft pounds difference.
