I love the Clampets reference! We actually have a stretch limo that we use, as well. The dogs could care less, but their parents really get a kick out of it! I'm glad that you found and had the great experience! Love hearing those stories! It's actually one of the few cases where more money got you a better experience!

I'll reiterate again...if anyone finds themselves needing to use an outside entity to care for the pets so you can go do some things, please private message me and I'll help where I can. No guarantees, but I might be able to give some pointers to look for. And if you ever see "BEANSRV" in a campground, stop by and say hello!

Does anyone travel with a cat? We just bought our first RV (Minnie 2021 2529RG) and can’t wait to use it. We have a 14-year-old cat that we are thinking of bringing with us because we want to be gone a few weeks at a time and boarding is too expensive (plus being gone from him that long). Does anyone bring their cat? Any words of advice or warning? Thanks!

We traveled with one until old age caught up with her. Ours was never interested in rushing the door to get out, which was our main concern. We just let her have the run of the RV, even on travel days. She'd find a place, usually the couch, sometimes the bed, and just lay there when traveling. She had strong very vocal opinions about bumpy roads and/or curvy roads, other than that she never had any issues with travel or living in the RV.

We travel with two torties. Both get very excited when they know we are going camping. We put out their small soft crates and they both go in and lay down waiting for us to zip them up to transfer them to the truck. In the truck we have two large soft crates that we racket strap face to face to the backseat deck. These also have zippered top entries. This allows for two rooms that they can go between. One room has a small litter box and the other has a spill proof water dish. When we stop for gas or a meal, my wife feeds them and lets them out to walk around inside the truck before we start traveling again.

When we get setup on site, we then move them to the camper. In the camper they have a loft and window box to use. We also, setup up a screen room for them under the canopy.

We place a top entry litter box on a mat in the shower.

Oh, these are great ideas, thank you! Oooh, the litter box. I was wondering where best to put it. I am completely envious that your fur babies WILLINGLY go in the crates and wait for you to zip them up. Our cat hides anytime we even get the cage out! But, that’s the topic for another post.
