Going to keep the one I got!!!
We have a 2002 Adventurer with 40,000 miles and have been looking for another Motorhome. It's hard to [to us]find another floor plan better than the 35u. We have had it for 7 yrs and love it and after we found what they will give for trade in or what retail value is, we are keep it and drive the wheels off. We know you take a beating on Rv's when it comes to trading but we are not going to take it!!! What's your feeling on this???

We are on our 4 th class A and know what the dealers re sold our trade in for compared to what they gave us. It was a bigger differance then I would have thought. If we were to buy again we will only buy direct from a FSBO unit. That is what we did with our coach and bought for near $10,000.00 under book. We hope our 35', 2008 with 3 slides will be it. Need to stop going to the RV shows.

If it suits your desires, keep it and enjoy it. If it is paid off, start a maintenance account and save bit each month as a hedge against any major repairs which may come up.

Sure am glad to see I'm not the only one that feels that way. I have to much invested to have a dealer make all the profit. Would be nice to have something new..but !!!!

We have a 1999 35' Winnebago Brave that we find very comfortable. It just turned 100,000 mi. We have just bought a 2003 Adventurer 38g with 25,000 mi. It had exactly what we wanted, larger bath area, enclosed toilet room, more bedroom storage and washer/dryer. We will sell our current motor home ourselves. We haven't seen any thing made after 2004 that we really like as well as the 2000 - 2004 models. We thought about diesel, but we can take a little more time going up the grades and buy gas for the rest of our lives for the difference between gas and diesel.

Mike and Fran,
We are keeping our 50K coach for the same reasons. We like the floor plan better than any we have seen and have modified everything we can to get it the way we want it. We had the flooring replaced at Elite RV Services in Elkhart, IN. (877-457-4296) and will likely get it painted in the future. The fact that people are keeping their coaches is the reason there are so many remodeling operations open today. We shopped around looking for quality and price and are very satisfied with the changes. I've replaced the TV's with flat screens and recently removed the cook stove that was replaced by a pull out oak counter top and storage drawers. We now cook on a hot plate, electric skillet, George Forman or the grill. We sure don't miss the rattles of that box of tin.
The other thing is that we know what we have and how it's been serviced. So, for us, it has been an easy decision to keep what we have. Of course I'm still looking for things to modify as I can't leave anything alone.
Good luck,
Dave

Although I do still look, I have yet to find another coach I like better than our Bounder. I can make modifications, do maintenance & upgrades for WAY less than the cost of trading in/purchasing new. We're keeping tihs one for the foreseeable future.

Each time we bought a new RV over the years, we said "that's the last one"....and we're now on number eight. But, we're fulltimers now, and our 2006 Ellipse 40FD has the perfect floorplan for us. Each year we've invested a bit of money and time to improve something, and that's keeping us happy. We visit the RV shows and look, but frankly, the price of diesel motorhomes has escalated to a point where we think it's crazy to buy a new one. Besides, we've just about got all the bugs worked out of this one. We hope.

We find there is always something better out there around every corner. We had a 33 ft Coronado sold it and took a beeting, bought a fsbo HR Endeavor with 52k on it three slides at 40ft and gutted it to re-create it how we wanted it. Plan to keep this one for the long haul and keep up on the maintenance. Hopefully it will see the entire US. Find what you like and make it better within your budget.

My wife wants to retire in three years so we are making double and triple payments so it's paid for. That will be a day of celebration for Her and the MH.

Hi,
We bought oyr RV at Lichtsinn in Forest City and it only had 35 miles on it. I have driven it all the way up to 40K and enjoyed every minute of it. The coach is paid for and we like the floor plan. I like the 8.1l engine and the alison tranny and the way it performes. It took us to Alaska and back with no problems.
This coach will be our last and since I do most of the maintainence I know it is done right. If I have to bring it to a dealer I stay with it and make sure all is done OK. I had the brake recall done and was very happy with the WCC dealer that did it.
In my estimation Wiinebago makes a fine coach and their service is top notch plus if I have a problem that I can't figure out they are just a phone call away and have been there for me. Keep up the good work Winnebago!

We have a 94 Itasca and plan to drive the wheels off it. I am upset with parks that do not allow older rv,s. So we just go other places. @#@#@# them.
