Our Micro Minnie is plugged into our 110 home current using the proper adapter. If nothing else is running in the camper when plugged in at home, will the AC run without creating any problems either in the camper or the house electric?
The house AC just went on the fritz and can’t get anyone out for at least two days so we’re considering sleeping in the camper. House is up to 85+ degrees!
When we’re about to go on a trip I usually bring our camper near the house and run the ac, the frig and some lights for a day or so when packing. I bought a heavy duty extension cord at Lowe’s and use a 20 amp outlet from the garage. I’ve done this with the Winnebago and did it with my prior camper.
Thanks. Been seeing pros and cons through Google and was wanting to get some input from the forum. We will give it a shot tonight so we can get a good nights sleep pending out house AC getting repaired in the next couple days.
If you’re outside outlet is a ground fault outlet you’ll probably have to replace it or it will trip the outlet. IIRC, I removed the gf outlet and replaced with a heavy duty one - 20 amp on a 20 amp breaker, but it could have been my garage air compressor I did that for. In any event, its not on a gf outlet.
