Lucky A/C fix

This morning the front A/C unit would not come on. No fan, but the heater worked. So we are concerned as you would be too. I spent a couple hours researching with little to show for it. Decided to pull the filter cover off and discovered one of the wires had vibrated loose. Plugged it back in and presto it’s operates as designed. File this under, even a blind squirrel stumbles across a nut now and then.

Actually, that's the first step in troubleshooting. Look to see if anything is disconnected or otherwise obviously amiss (leaking, charred, etc.).

You should gently squeeze all the connectors with a pair of pliers to tighten them a bit. If one vibrated loose, others may as well.

Corrosion is such a big issue on things that only get used occasinaly that we might need to consider taking preventative action!
One way industry prevents this problem is using a simple grease to keep air and moisture off connections.

Battery racks at remote sites is where I run into this most often but it would work very well for lots of those small connections, too.

Look for "No-OX-A" ! The full name is No OX A special grease, If I remember correctly but it has been a few years since buying. Used in a thin layer, it lasts a long time.

Hint?
It only works if you use it? Laying in a drawer in the shop, it never works!

I agree, with one exception. The exercise bike is a great place to hang clothes.
