To me, this seems extremely high. Even if the defrost mode only lasts an hour or two, any food frozen in the freezer would start to thaw. When I checked our freezer at 40 degrees, the bag of frozen fruit we had in there was soft.
Thoughts???

This might be the answer for my cold weather issue. After the defrost cycle, the ambient temperature is low enough that the return to the cooling cycle isn't triggered.
I'm trying to make a habit of cycling power every morning to avoid the defrost cycle now to see if that helps.
I really like being able to run on gas, so I'm not interested in swapping out for a residential unit.
