Fridge only runs on LP ?

our camper has sat for a month with the shore power hooked up to 50 amp, but the fridge was turned off because of lack of use. Went to turn the fridge on and will only run on LP. Does it take a while for it to start humming when on AC? Thanks for your help

No!
Did you select AC power or have it set to switch auto mode.
Check AC breakers.

Ours does this after storage (not plugged in) and I just hit the switch (on auto) several times and it has always switched to ac after a few times. I'm sure one of these times it will not so I will have the same question about there must be a selector switch somewhere that may need replacing.

Thanks for the replies, I tried AC and auto, on auto it stays on AC, so I'm guessing the power source is fine, there's lights on the door controls, and the breaker is fine. Any other ideas? I left it on LP and will try to switch back to AC tomorrow, hopefully it kicks on. Thanks

No humming. at the very least there might be a slight gurgle. This is not a mechanical system it you have a regular RV 2-way frig.

You can expect it to take 12 to 24 hours to cool down whether on gas or electric.

If you have on AUTO and moves to AC than you may have a 5amp fuse blown on the control board.
Plus when on AC or gas the freezer plates will be the first to get cold than box and like has been said takes 12 to 24 hours to fully cool.
The fridge works on a good 12V's for control board in rear and front control strip.
AC only supplies 110 for the heating elements through that 5 amp fuse on control board.
I have never heard the AC elements hum, sorry.

when running on LP it makes a slight noise but not when on AC. Where exactly is the 5 amp fuse your talking about? What type of fuse is it, I'm 25 miles from the camper, Thanks

Hawkeye, Assuming you have a Norcold 1201 like I do in my 2006 Journey, here is a picture of the circuit board located on the back of your fridge under a black box cover. There are two fuses (both 5 amp) one is the old glass type on the left and one is the newer automotive plug in style. I'm not sure which one is for the 110 volt heating elements.

First make sure you have 110 to the fridge. Unplug the fridge and check the outlet to make sure you have power there. If not, check your GFI recept. and breakers. Have you had the recall done on this fridge? If you have there is an additional black box attached to the cooling tubes. It has a red light on it which should give trouble codes.
If you haven't had the recall, the glass fuse is the 110. There are two wires that come out of the board and go to a probe high on the vent stack, you can feel that get hot almost immediately after you turn it on to ac.
