2022 Minnie 2301 bhs 2nd ac prep

Happy 4th weekend,

I'm looking for the location of the 2nd ac prep wiring for our 22 2301bhs. We were out yesterday in 94 degree heat and the single ac simply couldn't keep up. I want to install the second ac as soon as possible...thank you in advance.

Welcome!

Be aware that two A/C units will require more electrical amps than your TT is set up for.

Many Minnie owners have purchased the TT with the 2nd A/C installed at the factory and found that the trailer is not able to run both A/Cs at the same time. Even though WBGO continues to state that it can be done.

Here's a thread on the topic here and you'll see the problem:

https://www.winnieowners.com/forums/...aw-360190.html

It really seems that Winnebago is expecting owners to run one A/C in the living area during the day and the bedroom A/C separately for sleeping. Well, that's how it seems to be designed, but not what they are claiming on their website.

There are plenty of travel trailer owners of all brands that have modified their TTs to 50-amp service so that multiple A/Cs could be run at the same time.

Best of luck on this project.

Thank you for the reply. Our 2301 is actually setup for 50amp service...There is one 20 Amp breaker for the primary ac and one 20 Amp breaker for the secondary ac...

Great! I had not heard of that being available now. That's great.

It's just a guess, but if you have a fantastic or similar fan in the bedroom I'd remove the frame around it and look for the wiring for the A/C to be right there. If it's there then you'd remove the fan and install the new A/C right there. That's what I've seen others doing anyway.
