Will the AC run if plugged into 120v from the house?

You need a 30 Amp outlet for a single A/C and a 50 Amp outlet of you have dual A/C.

Even though you may have an adapter to go from the 30AMP RV plug to the standard 15A or 20A house plug, it will probably blow the breaker when you turn it on. If it doesn't blow the breaker when the A/C starts, it will likely overheat and weld the adapter to the outlet.

If you do add an outlet I suggest adding a 50Amp, allowing for a bigger RV in your future. I have added 3 50 Amp outlets around my property for my visiting friends RV's.

If you have a true 20 amp circuit in the house (garage a likely location) that should probably be sufficient. The breaker should handle the momentary surge. You should make sure little else is on though--particularly the electric water heater. Note true 20 amp circuits have a heavier gauge wire than the normal 15 amp circuits, and the outlets are slightly different if installed in the proper circumstances.

If you happen to have a dedicated car charging outlet it's possible some sort of adapter plug would work and provide 20 or more amps of power.

This is different than the 2000 watt generator situation where the generator simply doesn't have enough power to provide. Your house circuit will have enough power, it's just a question of whether the surge will trip the breaker.
