I replaced all my capacitors and nothing

It ended being a bad circuit control board. I took pictures before I started bc there are alot of wires to switch out. Solved my problem,

What were the symptoms of your issue? Thermostat only reads the indoor temp at 92-99°. It never goes lower.

UPDATE: Issue resolved with new thermostat! Thank God! Answered prayers for sure! The temp difference between the air entering the filter and the air coming out of the overhead vents is about 23°

Thank you very much! It's crazy how bad the sliders were on the original one. You don't realize it until you get a new one!

As my Dad would say they're not made of Iron so you do have to treat those thermostats with respect and gentility. I cringe when I hear my guys in a rush flipping the switches hard and fast because they are in a hurry or banging on the buttons in order to more quickly raise or lower the temperature.

Still on the original thermostat that came with my 2001 Adventurer.

Alternate to OEM Thermostat

Maybe am a little late to the party, but I found a thermostat that works with the basement air that has no moving parts to fail. It is an Ecobee Si. Been installed for about five years now without problem. Only limitation is that it does not have a hi/low fan switch. [Note: Owners Manual sez it is for 24v systems, but it works fine on 12v]. This will be the backup project. Will find a new or used one.

So with the ecobee you can set the time/cool/heat for a true no touch temp system. The smart thermostat will change from cool to heat automatically based off programming. Is that correct?

To be honest, I am not aware of all of the ecobee Si features. I control the thermostat from my cell phone (ecobee has an app that you download). \ken
