Water tank fill-other than hose

I would like to get some bleach in to my fresh water tank but there is no outside fill, other than the hose connection. Any ideas.

Pour the bleach in your hose that is already hooked up to the m/h, hook it up to the spigot and turn on the spigot.

I have an 2005 36G Meridian. There is a water fill on the curb side. It's a little square door about 4 or 5 inches square. That door, by the way, is supposed to be open when you fill your tank through the city hookup. It keeps the tank from possibly rupturing in case the overflow can't handle the overflow.

Pump the bleach in through your antifreeze winterizing hose pickup. Dilute the bleach 50% with water before pumping into your fresh water tank.

Tom's rig must be plumbed differently than mine ... ('04 Journey) ... when you use the antifreeze winterizing hose it goes into the water lines on my rig ... not into the fresh water tank ...

I use the curbside filler ... I dilute the bleach into a gallon jug ... use a funnel and pour it in ...

Thank you all for the responses. There is no direct feed to the tank on the exterior of the '07. I had thought about running it through the anti-freeze siphon but wasn't sure if it would really make it to the tank, probably wouldn't be bag for the whole system anyway. SkiGramps, looks like the simplest will be the best, pour it in the hose and hook up.

I had the same problem on our old Coachmen Class C. Wound up getting a pipe fitting and a 3 ft. piece of clear plastic tubing from the local hardware store. The fitting was brass with male hose thread on one end and a barbed male tubing fitting on the other (to fit inside the tubing). Used a regular hose clamp to hold it together. Then attach the contraption to the city water fill and use a funnel on the end of the hose to catch the bleach water as you pour it from a jug. A bit tedius, but it worked well.

I just figured out that my '07 Journey doesn't have a water fill port on the curb side, as my '00 did.

How many features is Winnie taking away on the new coaches (I published a list in this forum when I got my coach last November, but didn't find this one missing until recently)?

Once again, sure is a customer dissatisfier when you want to sanitize your fresh water tank. How does Winnie suggest it be done on these new coaches w/o the water fill port??

I believe if you set your city water valve to tank fill, you can put a bleach solution in using the antifreeze tube.

All I have ever done was to put the amount of bleach into the hose prior to connecting it to the rig. Then fill as normal. The water will force the bleach in when you turn the water on.

I use an external water filter for my MH which contains the filter cartridge. When I get ready to santize the water tank and everything else, I remove the filter cartridge from the holder and pour in the correct amount of bleach for the amount of water I am going to put into the water tank. As the water flows through the water filter container, it will cause the bleach to be added to the water going to the water tank. Very easy to do this way.

My '03 Ultimate Advantage has access to the fresh water tank from the battery compartment at the right rear, and there is a large screw cap on top of the tank there that I remove when I want to add chlorine. (I use hot tub chlorinating crystals rather than bleach). Without that access cap, I like David K's use of the water filter cartridge, though pouring it into the end of the hose gives you the added benefit of sanitizing your fresh water hose in addition to the tank!!!

DAVID K: Great idea using the water filter body to inject chlorine into the tank. Sounds like a better way than what I am doing with the gravity fill and funnel. I was always afraid of getting bleach down the side of the coach. Never happened,, but there is always the chance. Man some one always has a better idea.

I agree, I think DavidK wins. I use an inline filter on my freshwater hose and it is a simple solution.

Pusherman, same unit as the Meridian, same problem.
