I agree with you 100%. Those of you who are worried about galvanic corrosion what do you do about your TPR valve? They are all brass, threaded directly into the aluminum from the factory.

We see that in residential water heaters all of the time, when they have copper to galvanized pipe connections and no dielectric union. But brass to aluminum?

But if this is a standard NPT 1/2 inch cap, why go the hard way when simple is so easy to find?
