Everpure and Omnipure appear to be the same company, as part #'s are the same. Yes, replacement cartridges are expensive. It is because they have such a large capacity, mine is 7,000G. Of course we will never approach that capacity in one year, so when we store the MH for more than a month I remove the cartridge, drain it, then put in in the deep freeze until needed. Everpure does sell a 2-pack of 1/2 size cartridges for vacationers for about $10 more than the large cartridge, which is designed for full-timers. The head will be either a QL2 or QL3,
