Surging water pump

We are wintering in the Rio Grande Valley, and are having a few overnight temps in the 20's. Disconnected the white hose so it wouldn't freeze after filling about a third of the fresh tank - seems the Spyder 28ks has warmed tanks or underbelly, as the floor above them in the kitchen and bathroom are warm.

So when I ran water I had good pressure and good flow, but the pump seems to be turning on and off. I only used the pump once before for a short time, and it acted the same, but I figured it was priming and purging air. If I open another faucet the flow and pressure remain about the same, but then the pump runs continuously. In our last RV the pump always ran steady when a tap was open.
Wondering if this is the way it works or something to concerned about.
