It drips. The screw to rmv the handle (single handle) is badly rusted to the point that there is no way to use a Philips, blade or any other type of screwdriver to rmv it. Tried an "Easy Out" but that didn't work either. And not enuf room to get a pair of pliers on it. Don't have any gas in my chainsaw.
Another addition to my To Do list.

I tried again using all above procedures, but could not rmv screw. So I unscrewed the collar assembly (below handle), wiggled the whole mess without removing it, & screwed the collar back on again. No drip. Don't fuss with it.

Thudman:
Mine was the same way. My wife noted 'dirt' under the button on the plastic knob. When I removed the button, found the screw head was nearly gone from rust. Why the screw was not stainless...go figure? Well, I drilled it out and messed up the knob. Could not find an exact replacement knob so replaced the whole thing. Lowe's has a single lever (no plastic knob) gold Peerless faucet that looks and works better than the OEM....was $58.

I have the same issue and can't believe that the screw is not stainless. I think the same thing is happening to the shower faucet handle also.
Did the Peerless faucet require any modification to the current attachments?

Thx folks for your comments. I just checked my shower handle screw, and it has not yet started to rust. I'll call Winnie & find out who the vendor is, and call them. Will advise.

Ben:
No modifications required to install the Peerless faucet..fit neatly in same hole, water lines easy to attach. Peerless has lifetime warranty.

It's dripping again. Called Winnie; no help. Called Phoenix Faucets & they're sending a replacement unit. Guess I'll have to drill out the screw like smlranger did, then replace the whole mess. If the replacement doesn't look promising, I'll spring for the Peerless.
Re using a stainless screw in the first place, the Phoenix guy said a screw is a screw. Oh well.
