Shower problem

Hi Everyone, so appreciate the knowledge base that is available here!

My problem is the base that the shower hose connects to needs replacing, it is clogged from PO's neglect, and needs replaced. The fixture is located as you see in the picture and the opposite side of the wall is the Hallway, and there is no access panel located there.

I am hoping someone else has solved this problem and can provide some insight as to how to remove this item from the wall

Thanks for any and all advise.

Ok, got it fixed, thanks Winnebago owners on Facebook. One helpful poster said Jim, he said, book writing, "there is a valve there, remove it with a LARGE ALLEN wrench." I did, and he was right.

Actually, it is a backflow preventer valve. Removed it, clogged, thought about soaking it in vinegar, but what the heck a new one on eBay was only 17bucks so I ordered it. In the meantime, I hooked the hose up direct and lots of pressure with only the pump providing the impetus.

While on eBay I also ordered a new hand held sprayer and a new chrome surround for the mixer valve which is now gold. Changing it all to chrome.

Anyhow, hope this helps somebody.

Many folks just remove that one-way valve and forget it was there, much more shower water pressure. The downside is dry camping and water use.
