I'd sure change them now before the handle comes off in your hand and then you've got the challenge of how to empty your black tank in order to change the valves.

Pull hard = cable lube ... the valve likely is not the issue, but the cables. I re-anchored one of mine that came loose 4 - 5 years ago ...used small cable ties. Never had another problem.

You can use a motorcycle cable luber and inject some ATF to lube the cables. Best to remove cables from coach to lube but it can be done while in place. Use compressed air to force the lube in.

I re-read every post in this 8 yr old thread to refresh my memory ... not sure exactly what you mean, but I will take a stab at it. I am assuming you have an Ultimate Advantage or Freedom. Depending on the floor plan yours MAY resemble the discussion ... all bets are off on other models. It would be very helpful if you could indicate what your rig is in your public profile and/or in a signature block.

The wall we discussed removing was the rear wall of the storage bay immediately forward of the water bay. On close inspection you will find screws along the top and bottom edges, and along each seam between wall panels. Remove the screws and the compartment wall comes out with the carpet intact. In addition to that compartment wall, I also removed the the largest part of the white metal panel in the water bay. That helps to see what is where, but you cannot reach the valves from there.

Paul,

Thank you for your reply. I know this is an old thread.

I thought my RV information would show up as part of an automatic signature.

My RV is 2000 Winnebago Adventurer WFG35B.

Both valves, black and grey, are hidden behind a "wall" and are not directly accessible. Both of them are leaky and need to be replaced. I just cannot figure out how to access them.

Thank you for your help.

I suspect yours are similar to mine. Accessible either through wall of water compartment or storage bay in front of it. The center portion of my water bay white metal wall comes out relatively easy compared to the top of the wall. Even though the storage compartment wall it can be difficult.
