We had a thermocouple go bad in one of our coaches. It looked like a fuse in a clear plastic u shaped tube. Once it was replaced we had hot water. We bought an extra to have if it happened again...never did. Just a possibility.

You didn't say if the problem had just started of this is your first time trying to use the hot water. I had a similar problem with a brand new coach and it turn out that we had 3 valves to and from the tank which were in the closed/bypass position.

Also check to be sure you have any outside spigot's turned off. We suddenly had no hot water & even though the outside sprayer was off, the knobs were on so the water was mixing all the way out there & getting cold.

It would be very helpful if you would list the make, model and year of your vehicle in any query like this. That way folks are in a much better position to help you, point you at the appropriate documentation, etc.

It is definitely the check valve on the back of the tank (Cold water fill line) After you disconnect the PEX line to the valve it will take a 1" wrench to loosen the valve and remove. The little plastic check valve inside has broken and sealed the opening. On mine, I removed the plastic pieces and reinstalled the valve (use teflon tape on threads) All worked well and no difference in service without check portion of valve. Depending on your model, the hardest part is getting to the location of the valve on the back of the tank

You didn't say which model Suncruiser you have, but on the 33V Plumbing Diagram you can see the two check valves behind the water heater (each labelled 'V-6') in the lower right of page 6 of the pdf. It should be similar for other models. If you go here Manuals & Diagrams you can look at the info Winnebago has online and select your particular year/model to get all the info for your coach.

no hot water

found the problem, it was the check valve on the hot outlet of the tank ( which is one bugger to get to ) the check valve spring retainer came off and let the valve plug the line. winnabago needs to hire an engineer.

Sorry I misread your original post. I thought you had water, but it just wasn't hot. Glad you found the problem.

My check valves seem to start making noise after a year or two of use. First set were replaced in the initial 12mo warranty.

I just ordered my second set from Amazon, [ Camco 23303 RV 1/2" Back-Flow Preventer ] for under $8 each. a standard 1/2" brass fitting.

When the noise gets loud enough, I will replace again.
