Image of rear of waterheater

Hi. I have a 1999 Chieftain with automatic winterization. Husband changed the hotwater heater tank but he did not take note of the plumbing at the time. Looking for picture of the back of the waterheater to ensure he puts it back together correctly. He just replaced the tank only.

Here's a link to the parts manual with some diagrams that may help (see pgs 83-84):

https://www.winnebago.com/Files/File...9/99wfl35u.pdf

Sometimes the parts manual has more details than the wiring or plumbing diagrams.

For some reason, the link to the plumbing diagram only shows a graphic of the drainage system so it's not any help. I checked the link for my 2002 Suncruiser 35U and it also only shows the drainage system instead of a full plumbing diagram, which was there in the past. Winnebago has had some recent problems with their links so, hopefully, they'll fix it.

Here's a link to Winnebago's owner support page. You should download everything you might need (owners manual, wiring diagrams, plumbing diagram when available, wiring identification guide, service tips, etc.) so you'll have access even without the internet. All the wires in your MH should have a code on them which is listed in the wiring ID guide, so it's especially valuable.

https://www.winnebago.com/owners/owner-resources

You also might want to go to the User CP in the toolbar and create a signature like mine that shows all the details of your MH. That way, if you forget to mention it in your post, we'll know what you have.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Simple... Cold water goes in the bottom and hot water comes out the top... after it gets heated by gas flame or electric element.

Some RV have a few more hoses that go the engine heat exchange box, but I doubt your hubby will have a problem putting back the water lines since they are likely PEX and are already cut to only go back one way.

However, it's a very good idea to install new "donut-washers" in those plastic fittings; and I would change your check valves as a preventative maintenance step since these things fail all the time. (Or you can drill the "guts" out of the valve and then put it back in the water line as a pipe nipple.)

Here's a link to the 1999 Chiefton 35U Plumbing diagram. It has a line drawing of the back of the water heater... but not a great deal of written details about each part.
