What would cause my hot water tank, 10 gal. 2006 Meridian to drip slightly from the brass release value drain hole? It only does this when the tank has reached temperature. If I turn it off for awhile it stops leaking. Is it getting to hot? Thanks

Mine did the same thing since new. Water heaters need a pocket of air in the tank to operate properly.I thought this was my problem, that it was over filled. Turned out to be a bad pressure relief valve, less then $10.00,if you can turn pump pliars , you can replace it yourself. Make sure unit is off, pressure has been relieved and cooled down. Check thread size, before buying.

2006? You lost the air space in the top of your tank. Your manual will tell you how to restore it or drain tank, reinstall drain plug and fill with water. The air head space will be restored.
