Over time our polished brass finish shower head has become partly clogged with lime from hard water. I have been tempted to try using a product I saw on TV called CLR to clean it. My only concern is that it may damage the finish on the shower head. Has anyone had any experience with this product or does anyone have any suggestions on how to safely clean the shower head? Again, the finish on the shower head is polished brass and I am concerned about damaging the finish on it if I use the wrong product.
Thanks,
Paul

i would be careful with any harsh chemicals.
All I did was used a small pick to clean out each hole. It was a very small metal one, that I use for electronic stuff, but it worked non the less.
Mine is actually starting to wear the "Brass" like coating and I would like to replace it, but the only brass ones I have found are the dorky looking ones at Camping World....
Seems Brass isn't "In" anymore.....

DW has used "Limeaway" for years with good results. Also, you could probably use a vinegar/water mix to soak the head in for a few hours.

Soak it in white vinegar for a few hours and it will clean up nicely.

Before using any harsh chemicals, soak the head in a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water over night then rinse real well.

Yep, we, too, soak it in vinegar/water mix periodically.

vinegar would work. Also if you can find an ultrasound cleaner, and use vinegar. I cleaned a ring, and my glasses, and I was amazed how well it worked.

Send it back to Alsons, the manufacturer. It has a full lifetime warranty.
