Clean or Replace Kitchen Sink?

Have a 2005 Winnebago Adventurer, model 37b. Built with higher end features, such as solid surface counter tops.
But the kitchen sink needs help -

1> It is the OE "plastic" sink. OE color was a light tan, but now it has gotten horribly stained (coffee stains?) dark brown all across the bottom. Have tried everything to clean it - scrubbing powders, White Vinegar, bleach, etc. Even the white "Mr Clean" "sponges". Nothing works. Seems like the stains have worked themselves into the plastic somehow, but never seen this happen before with any other plastic items. Any suggestions??

2> Replacing with Stainless Steel. Would like to simply replace this double-sided sink with a S/S one. Called Winnebago, and they claim that this sink was custom molded by Winnebago, so no equivalent S/S version exists.

Have searched far & wide on-line, but find none that would work as a drop-in replacement. So far my only real option is to find something close and then remove and recut the entire current counter top to make it fit. But that's a big job I would rather avoid.

Has anyone else converted their Winnebago plastic sink to Stainless?

Thanks

You might could paint the sink, there are various special paints for fiberglass. there are special enamel/porcelain paints just for that purpose.

OR you could put as close of a match SS sink and add SS parts to close it up and might look quite nice too.

i have a fiber sink too, but my problem is changing the faucet, nearly zero space, no access panels and can not see faucet bottom but can feel it - very $tupid design whinybagels !!!!

the back side has all the 12v trips and 120vac breakers so NOT a friendly place on either side - would like to take out sink - but is sealed in and that looks like a HUGE issue to remove - SUCKY !!

besides a very cheap painted orig faucet too - but then changed the br faucet and it had to have cost all of $1.50 originally, chromed plastic $4eet - looked ok but the 'reach' was only 2" or so could not even gets hands under it for good rinse !!!

As Smiley says, there are epoxy paints out there to solve these problems.

We went with this product https://www.amazon.com/Homax-720773-...231076&sr=8-34

We bought it at ACE Hardware several years ago for about $25.
More now. Comes in a brush on and spray on version. We chose the spray on so our cost was closer to $50 -- since it ruined my HVLP nozzle.

Most of the competing products come it kits designed for tub/shower/surround. So large quantities and large prices.

As with any epoxy, follow the directions to the letter. We've been happy with the result. You still have to clean, but it seems to resist staining better than the OEM.

SWMBO really wanted stainless, but the sink is an odd shape with one side longer and wider than the other. And I did not want to tackle cutting into the counter top corian. Good move, taking it out! This stuff ain't no Chanel #5.

With the 26oz can, we applied three coats to the kitchen sink, two coats to the vanity sink and assorted plastic flower pots. (Waste not, want not.)

If you can find a self rimming SS sink rather than an undermount sink, re-cutting the hole shouldn't be difficult and doesn't have to be perfect since the rim will cover any imperfections..

Read somewhere from a full-timer about cleaning windows and sinks.

He recommended filling the sink with Oxyclean solution and letting it sit for a time.

For outside windows, he recommended dry steel wool (glass is harder than steel).

For inside windows and mirrors, he uses damp micro-fiber cloths.

I hope you find something that works for you.
