Broken LP tank mount on 06 35A

Has anyone had a broken LP tank mount on 06 Winnie 35a ? My Repair shop is telling me that Winnebago had a recall on LP mounts back in 05 or 06. The LP tank in my rig is hanging on by one weld, they told me to contact Winnebago.

Not sure about your model year but there was a recall on my '02 Journey. I would certainly contact Winnebago. You can email them at [email protected].

I would follow smlranger's advice. There is a recall that affected earlier model years for sure, but Winnebago may take care of your tank even if there wasn't a specific recall on that model. Is is, after all, a safety issue, and if the tank brackets were adequate, it should never have broken. Ask them to correct this for you, even if no recall.

Are you talking about the bracket on the coach that the tank mounts to, or the bracket on the tank? If it's the bracket on the tank there should be a certification label welded to the tank. I believe all the tanks have to be certified "fit for use" for 10 years. Ours was replaced a few years ago (for only a shipping charge for the new tank) when it developed a leak.

Had that problem on my 02 Brave and Winnebago took care of it for me. If you do a search I believe there was a thread on the subject some time back in late 05 / early 06.

Broken LP Tank bracket on 06

Contacted Winnebago today and was told that they will cover the cost of the fix, all they wanted was a photo of the tank and bracket from my repair shop. It's nice to do business with a company like Winnebago that stands behind it's vehicles.

Thanks for all your help....

Kurt
