Black Tank Flush Connector on 2022 Minnie

I just took delivery of a 2022 Minnie. During the demo at the dealership, the outside shower cover was open, hiding two hose connections, one black and one white. The guy giving the demo clearly wasn't familiar with this travel trailer model (or maybe even with Winnebagos). He skipped right over the demonstration of what these connectors are for. He even said that he was surprised that this model didn't have a black tank flush connector.

I have a feeling that the black connector under the shower IS the black tank flush connnection, but I can't find it mentioned anywhere either on the Winnebago site or in my owner's manual. Can someone tell me if this is the black tank flush connection? And what is the white connection next to it? The potable fill connection is on the other side of the trailer.

Thanks!

Yes, the black inlet is the black tank flush connector and the white one with a different shape is your City Water connection. Pretty typical if you know RVs... not so much if you are new.

Yep, I'm a total newbie so I appreciate the help! Ok, so if I need to disconnect from City water and switch to my fresh water tank, is there anything I need to do to switch sources, or does the trailer handle that automatically?

You simply turn off or unhook from city water and turn on your water pump. Of course, you need to have water in your fresh water tank. That does not fill automatically.

Right, fill tank and turn pump on. That would help! . Thanks for the quick replies!

Another thing, it’s best not to keep the pump on while towing your TT. A faucet could accidentally get bumped while driving and you not know.

Also, I wouldn’t keep the pump on while also keeping the city water on. (Others may disagree with this advice but I feel it’s bad for the check valve in the pump.)

Thanks for the tips. I was doing additional research this morning and I also saw others recommend not running the pump while connected to city water. Makes sense to me too.
