Air Water Separator Recall

Not sure if it is technically a recall, but got this in the mail yesterday for the water separator. If it looks like the bottom one, it needs replaced.

There is another post on this same issue. I purchased the part from Freightliner and installed it myself. Part was only $5.

I think if you read through the other post, you also have to drill out a larger drain hole.

Yes, you have to drill out the bottom which is very easy and then install the valve with a 2" hose clamp.

Ah, thanks. Not knowing what the issue was, from the pics I figured it might have something to do with the hole getting plugged and then holding water.

I did this yesterday an was very glad I did. I pulled out about 3" of twigs, bits of leaves and dirt.
