2020 Micro Minnie 2106FBS City Water filled Black tank

On our maiden voyage with our 2020 micro minnie (2106FBS). So far, so good.

We went to fill up our fresh water tank through the city water fill port. It filled up our black water tank. The lame manual says to "turn the selector valve to the tank fill location."
There's has been 3 of us unsuccessfully searching for said valve.
Pointers?

We filled our fresh water from the gravity fill connection and that has been fine, but wanting know about this city water fill/black water tank situation

Not familiar with the MM trailers, but it sure sounds like you connected to the black tank flush port instead of the tank fill/city water port.

That was my first thought too, but nope, we were in the right connection.

It seems something may be labeled wrong. The black tank is completely isolated from anything to do with fresh water. It should not be possible to fill black tank except through the commode or black water flush.

Do you have 3 external connections? A gravity feed, a fresh water fill that is other than gravity, AND yet another connection for black water rinse?

Yep, we have all 3.
Interesting you mention mislabeling, we have all been throwing that around also

So, have you connected to the connection labeled black water rinse to see what it does?

A second point to check is the stool as the valve may be stuck slightly open to allow the flow of flushing water to pass through to the black tank!

Another point to question? Why would there be a gravity fill and method to fill with the hose? Is that common on trailers?

A picture of where you are adding water may help to clear the question. Normally the diverter valve to switch from filling the tank to using the water is located very near the input port. But the trailers do often have different methods than the motorhomes and we don't get nearly as much info on them.

It is physically impossible to fill the black tank from an outside hose connection other than connecting to the black tank flush rather than the city water connection.

And, a travel trailer - other than some 5th Wheels - do not have fill/city diverter valves. Your Micro Minnie has a City Water hose connection, a gravity fresh water fill port and a black tank flush hose connection.

I don't know what manual you are looking at - but you need to listen to those of us here that are trying to help you.

Yeah, that's what I'm doing- listening to the advice and troubleshooting on the forum...

I looked at the owners manual that came with the trailer.

I'm well aware of all three connections you listed- if you had read the thread and replies, you'd see that it has been discussed.

Don't tell me it's physically impossible- it happened.

Since the most likely situation is that something isnt working correctly (from experience and the feedback on this forum) we're taking it to be serviced when we get back in town.

Thanks

I would try this suggestion before anything else, at least that would tell you if it's just a matter of the labels being reversed. That would be the best possible outcome I think, you can fix that pretty easily with a Sharpie.

On Micro Minnie’s, the gravity fresh water fill is on the curb side, and the tank flush is on the drivers side. So, it’s impossible to mix them up. If OP’s black tank is filling when gravity filling the fresh tank, the most likely explanation is that water is passing through the toilet entry valve, or toilet dump valve and into the black tank. It’s not possible for water to enter the black tank unless it comes through the toilet valves.

Solution is to shut off water pump, and check the toilet water valve. If it’s stuck open, you can take it off and lubricate with vegetable oil. If the toilet bowl dump ball valve will not close completely, shut off water and lubricate thoroughly with Vegetable oil spray. If neither works, and you’ve verified that toilet is leaking into black tank, you may have to replace the toilet.

If you still have the OEM model Dometic 300 plastic toilet, it sucks no matter what you do. It’s well worth it to throw it away and replace with a Dometic 310.

On our 2019 2106FBS, the city water fill is gravity-fill and the port, or opening to add the water, is on the passenger side to the left of the door. Is that where you are trying to fill up? The black tank flush is on the driver side towards the back of the camper.

The Micro Minnie travel trailers don’t have a valve that would let you fill the fresh water tank from the city water port. Your manual is likely “general” (applies to all Winnebago trailers) and this is simply a feature you don’t have. Gravity fill is the only way to add water to the fresh water tank. It sounds like they may have mislabeled the black water flush (anything is possible).

You said it was brand new, right? I think they goofed at the factory! So far, it's the only explanation.

I have a Winnebago Voyage 5th wheel. It absolutely does have a hose fitting for city water hookup and filling the fresh tank. There's a valve that selects between both of them.

I have a 2018 2106 FSB
Three water connections: one on passenger side to fill water tank. Two located on drivers side one … tank flush to spray and rinse the inside of the black tank and one to hook up the city water as a direct connection.
