WiFi Issues

Now that ATT seems to have abandoned the 12 month yearly WiFi data plan and after I had spent $400 for a Winegard RV ToGo WiFi extender, what are you guys doing for your WiFi (other than relying on the campground)?
We just updated our rig with new Smart TV’s.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Have you reviewed their other plans? They have a few unlimited data plans they are currently discounting and you can probably use one with your ToGo. I have an older ATT Mobley (connected car) plan. When my Mobley stopped working reliably I got an ATT compatible HotSpot from Amazon and used the SIM card from the Mobley. Popped in the SIM card and it worked.

My rates haven't changed and the hotspot is faster than the Mobley with better range. I've tethered it to my WiFi ranger and can stream my programs on the Roku without issues.

Good luck!

best,

Dave

The "unlimited" ATT plans Dave-Oh was speaking of unfortunately only work on phones or they have very low allowable high speed data streaming limits. And, I don't think any of them will work in a ToGo system unless it's been unlocked. Certainly not enough data to stream TV on your smart TVs.

ATT does offer plans for the ToGo but at MUCH MUCH higher prices and much lower gigs of data per month. Instead of the original truly unlimited ATT for $360 a year it's now limited to 100 gigs of service for $300 per month ($3,600 a year!!).

Streaming TV 4 or 5 hours a day can use 200 to 300 gigs per month.

Folks with the ToGo are really struggling to find options. Many have simply resigned themselves to go another route for Cellular internet and just use the ToGo as a "WiFi booster" only for campground WiFi.

Just what you want to hear I know. But ATT really screwed ToGo owners. You'd think ToGo (which I guess was a Thor RV company) would have a longer contract to back up a product offering they put together with a specific data plan.

There are Resellers like NetBuddy and OTR Mobile and others they can be cheaper and offer truely unlimited internet but they are struggling to keep operating as ATT has shut down many of the types of accounts these resellers were offering.

Here are the current data plans for the ToGo:
