I need to get my VCR/DVD out of the right hand upper cabinet, or at least twist it around, to connect the converter box behind it, but something is holding it down. Does anyone know how its fastened up there? I can't see any screws, is it just velcro fasteners or what? I always hate to be prying on anything that I can't see how it fastened in place. Any help appreciated.

On my dvd it is held down by velcro but it took some prying to break it loose.

Just pull hard on it. It's strong velcro.

Thanks, it must really be good velcro. At least now I know what to pry against. Maybe I can work a screwdriver inbetween the two pieces of velcro. Wonder where they got some that holds that good, none I ever buy works that good. Winnebago should have used velcro to hold the front and rear hoods on, it would probably hold better than some of that glue they use.
Thanks again guys.

Yep, it's industrial strength velcro. When I pried mine loose, it came loose from the bottom of the cabinet.

I put a Velcro stretch strap in over the driver's side to hold down my Directv box since it comes out at home. A pain to put in but much easier now to strap down the DTV receiver.

Thanks for the excellent advise. Used a long slender screwdriver wedgeing it in between the two pieces of velcro at the front of the machine on each side and popped it loose fairly easy. When the front came loose the back was no problem.
Found that a small piece of the rubber non-slip mat off the roll works pretty good under the DTV receiver to keep it in place.
You guys are great.

DO NOT PULL ON IT. Velcro has tremendous shear strength. Take a flat blade screwdriver (preferably 2) and pry it up. Works like a champ.

I use industrial strength velcro to hold our LCD TV in place (also tighten down the bolts on each side).

To remove the TV, I use a dull butterknife and slide it under at one end, then put another butterknife to hold the opened portion open. Works pretty slick, I think.

I purchased this velcro in the sewing department (notions?) at Walmart.

I was using a pair of screwdrivers but because of the !!@#$^&*()bifocals I didn't realize I was under the bottom piece.

Getting old is the pits but beats the alternative!
