Good afternoon all I need to purchase a new flat screen TV my question is purchase a AC TV cheaper in price or DC TV more money. We plan of boondocking with the motorhome, it has a generator 1 battery for coach. Any thoughts on my purchase AC /DC. Or ??? Thank you In advance Mike.
That might be an ideal situation for a 12 volt TV. Then you wouldn't have to mess with inverters, shore power, etc.
We bought one for the bedroom of our Minnie Winnie. It even has a built in DVD player. It wasn't exactly cheap but it didn't cost a fortune either. The convenience was worth the extra cost.

It may be diifficult to find a 12V powered TV through a brick although it won't be more expensive. If you can find one, just cut off the brick and wire it to DC in your MH.
Most smaller TVs use 19V DC from their brick like laptops and anything above 30" will usually be AC directly.
My batteries are located directly below my 42", so I simply installed a small 800w inverter with a short 8/2 conductor connection. I run a power strip to handle the TV/BluRay/Soundbar and still have outlets for anything else that might need power off grid. It will even run the girl's blow dryer on lower settings.
