Room darkening Windows

Hi
I will be snowbirding in New England for 6 months
come May.
I took my new 2018 Intent 30r to a local campground for a few days so as to get a feel for what is needed in there.
One thing for sure is the need to darken the coach when a) it’s very hot and humid out and b) if I want to sleep in.
This bus comes with shades that are not room darkening but they’re very nice and I don’t want to have to replace.
Any ideas on hanging room darkening curtains (which I’ve found on amazon) in that little space between valance and shade?
Thank you.

The Intent doesn't have the 2-level day/night shades?

Like these:

They're not completely black-out in the dark position but are pretty dark.

I don’t think these day/night shades came with my 2018 intent.
I’ll check today.
Wouldn’t that be nice?
The specs just say pleated shades..
If not, there must be a way to incorporate lightweight room darkening curtains in front of the shades.
I’ve found some inexpensive ones on amazon.
Maybe petite kitchen cafe rods from Walmart?
I just need to figure out a way to hang rods in between the decorative fabric valances and shades as there’s not much room in there.
I wonder whether magnetic tape attached to rods and at each end of front of shades would work without falling down every time I went over a bump? Lol
Oow, what about those tension rods?
They have narrow ones that might work. Or maybe the ones that are used to keep stuff from falling out of cabinets.
I just bought a four pack of them for $8 so that one could be used to reach down to input my passcode at storage lot. It works too as they extend quite a bit.
Also need something for intent door window which heats up bus when sun comes through it.
There must be something more decorative than sunshades. Hang a little rod there, maybe?
Thanks for letting me think out loud...

Did you consider getting your windows tinted? I just had all mine tinted with 20% film and it made a huge difference in reducing the radiant heat from the sun. I also had the upper 10 inches of my windshield tinted which cuts down on the glare. $300.00 well spent.

Hi a friend made me room darkening curtains.
The tint sounds great though.
Thanks!

You try to drive a car with front windows tinted, it makes a huge difference. Check you state laws of what is acceptable so you don't get a ticket.

In anticipation of intense sun and heat during a trip to Arizona and New Mexico, we bought some Reflectix insulation from Home Depot. About $20 for a 24" by 10 ft roll. For those who may not be familiar with the stuff, its two layers of silver mylar with a corrugated core also of mylar. Its 1/4" thick.

There is a "flange" on the inside of all windows of our Minnie Winnie, so I cut the Reflectix to fit this flange (it cuts easily with scissors) and used Velcro spots to fasten the Reflextix to the window flanges. When I did this little project earlier this year the Velcro spots used were oval shaped and about 3/4" x 1". These seem to have been replaced lately with 3/4 x 3/4 spots which will also work for this purpose.

This effectively blacks out all the windows. Oh, the cockpit side windows of course do not have the flanges, but there are recesses on the bottom and both sides of the windows, so as long as you cut the Reflectix for a snug fit they will stay in place.

When we stayed a couple days in New Mexico these window covers helped keep a lot of the heat out of the coach.
