Replacing the TV in My Bedroom, Advice?
Hi, I have a Jenson TV in the back bedroom area of my 27N. It won't play movies through USB so thinking about replacing it, but I know it's hooked up to the Invertor and such. Anything I should be aware of or will any new small TV do the trick? Has anyone dealt with this before? Thanks!

I replaced my bedroom TV with a Visio. It's just like connecting a TV at home with nothing special to do. Just make sure the mounting bracket will work on the new TV and hang that instead of the Jensen.

Hey thanks ThomB, what about the power cord? Did you use the one coming out of the wall (if compatible). My Jenson power cords seem to go into the cabinets somewhere!

I've got an outlet dedicated to the TV (coming from the inverter) that powers the TV right behind mine. You may want to trace that power cord to the source and see how it's connected.

The thing to watch for and get if you can is one that has a power transformer that plugs into the 110 volt receptacle, and cuts the power down to 12 volts and that wire plugs into the TV. I found one a few years ago, I think it was a 22" Samsung. I cut the transformer off and used the plug that fit the 12 volt TV outlet at the TV location and it worked perfectly well.
If not, then you will have to run a small inverter off this plug and feed the 110 cord into the inverter. I found that to power a 50 watt TV without an inverter fan running would take around a 400 watt inverter. That is not small, but smaller ones required the fan to cool them.

I run my TV requiring 40 watts with a inverter capable of 100 watts. It has no fan and hasn’t overheated.

Go with at lest a 32 inch in the bedroom, also try to get an LED Tv much less power draw. Also several have mentioned the power converter (plugs into 110 volt outlet then comes from that to the Tv). If your good with power you can cut the cord off the converter and install a 12 volt plug with built in fuse to go from the 12 volt outlet to the Tv, that will really save you some power on the batteries as you don't have to run the inverter then.

Inverters don't use much but every watt saved is good!

I changed my bedroom TV. It was a new 12v as installed by Winnebago. I changed to a 120V Smart LED TV. This was to give me an option to use the front TV on the Sat and the rear one could use Wifi. With solar and larger batteries both TV's can be left on all night without any issues.

That Jensen original TV is a 12 volt (battery) TV. They are very rare.
When you get a new 110 volt TV, just plug it in to the 110 socket just below the Jensen. That socket is on the inverter in a 27N.
Good Luck! Almost any TV is better than a Jensen....

Playing USB movies.
You can do what I did. Buy a USB, Micro Sd chip player. Mine connects via HDMI and gets its power from the EXISTING USB port or a separate ps. Works great, JUST move from Tv to Tv. Check Amazon, I am thinking $15-25 ???? I bought 2 because I got lazy AND I use one at home for the grandkids, toons!!! If you have a problem, let me know and I will find them on Amazon. The usb/chip player is smaller than a deck of cards. Keep your TV....

GBFANKEN, could you post a link to Amazon for this product. I can’t seem to find it. Of course, I’m not sure what I’m looking for. Thanks
