Replacement Black Rubber Radio Antenna Mast

After 7 years of sun exposure, my roof mounted, black rubber, radio antenna mast broke above the screw-in mount. No problem there - just unscrewed the remaining piece. I am having trouble finding a replacement screw-in mast however - tried the local truckstop CB repair place - no luck. Anyone know where you can purchase just the screw-in mast?

Winnebago sells a whole new antenna - but apparently not just the mast. No luck at Radio Shack either.

Thanks!

Mike

I found them at Wal*Mart and some car parts places have them also. Might not be an exact fit but they come with adapters.

mine was gone when we bought the rv, used. i took the swivel half that used to have the rubber duckie attached down and drilled a small hole where the old antenna used to be. then i installed a 31" long piece of stainless steel rod into the hole. then i drilled and tapped a setscrew hole in the side of the swivel and tightened down the setscrew. back on the roof it went. great reception with the antenna resting on the roof. if i need better reception i can just loosen the swivel and put the antenna to the vertical position. and yes, there is a checklist item for it too. not that i would ever forget to lower it before breaking camp...

Worst case (If you can not find it anywhere else) check Radio Shack, I do not think they have an exact replacement,,, BUT.. They used to sell a flexible "Rubber duck" antenna for hand held CB's. this unit had a sleeve that was designed to slip over what was left of a broken antenna and clamp on with a set screw.

And a brass (Yes brass) stud from ye-old-hardware.

Me too They fit perfectly and cheap too but you have to buy the whole assembly just to get the antenna.

This will probably be a direct replacement, just unscrew the rubber duck antenna from the base:

Not even going to admit how far we drove with our TV antenna up on our first RV trip. An oncoming truck had a look of shock in his eyes as he was pointing at my roof. I knew right away my wife had forgotten it !!!

I found a replacement at Radio Shack for 2001 Winnebago Journey DL. You can see the process of replacing this on wordpress. https://wordpress.com/stats/insights....wordpress.com then click on "Replacing the AM/FM Radio Antennae.

But for about $5 it isn't too bad a "hit" on the pocket book.

Replacing our missing AM-FM antenna on Itasca Navion.

I had the same problem and checked in at AutoZone. Found a Raptor 15" Shorty, all metal replacement with numerous adapters to fit most any antenna base. Perfect fit for our 2007 Navion. (Sorry for improperly rotated photo)
