This is good news, I find my OEM stat to be very inaccurate in controlling temperature.

Agree on the OEM stat. Its nice to see a company working on a product to support the older basement unit. Look forward to it. Hopefully its bug free on initial release.

I have the 354. Got it shorty after it was introduced. It did not install for me with ease. Turned out the fuse holder contacts were loose. Once I got beyond that things went better. Customer support is fantastic! If the new stat works as good as the 354 you will be very happy.

Micro-Air has the 356 model on its web site now. The model selector asked about stages on the cool and heat side. Easy answer on the cool side as the basement unit has two compressors. My TrueAir thermostat does have an option for electric heat pump heat or gas. have an email into there tech support. Have not cleared up the H1 vs H2 as yet.

I read over the manual on the TrueAir thermostat. Seems to indicate the gas heat is one stage only. Makes sense. But in electric heat mode it will use the basement heat pump and has two stages and can call in the gas heat as needed. Not sure which of the 356 Micro-Air to consider. (H1 or H2) They don't have manuals posted as yet.

There tech support said my 2004 Adventurer would use the 356 H1 model. Only one stage on the heat side.

I just ordered a 356 H1 black. Will see how it goes. I sent tech support to see if I need a harness to install. I also asked if they have the manual for download as yet.

I received my 356 thermostat. Will not be installing it for a bit as my motorhome is still in storage. The 356 has a Molex connector on the back. They also include a Molex pigtail if needed. I'm hoping my 2004 Adventurer has a Molex connector when I remove the existing thermostat so I can just plug in the 356.

Regarding the Molex connector, I think that was the plan, looking forward to hearing how your install goes, pictures would be great, but if you are like me you dive into the install and think about pictures after the fact.

You should have no problems with the connector.

Things I learned when installing my 354:
Before turning the thermostat on, go to settings and configure your cooling and heating options.
Connect your phone via Bluetooth.
Connect to your WiFi.
Check for updates and install if available.
Re-check your setting options.
Power on your 356.
Test the functions from the t-stat and then from the phone.
Test the WiFi connection by getting out of Bluetooth range.
Hoping all goes smooth for you.

I stopped by the storage building to pull my existing thermostat. It wasn't hard to pull the face off and remove the thermostat. Took a bit to fish the Molex connector out. At first I didn't think there was one and it was hardwired in. There is also another connector to unplug. Assume that provides power. I brought the old thermostat home. It's too dark to do the install of the 356 there. Going to wait until I bring the RV home. The existing screw holes will not work for the 356. Going to have to make new ones. The provided screws have a tether to space them properly for installing. After installing the screws break the tether. Well thought out.

I noticed the 356 has another connector. The manual says its for a room temp sensor. Reading between the lines it appears the 356 has an onboard room temp sensor. The manual suggests if you connect a sensor to the plug for the remotely mounted room sensor use:

Airxcel OEM remote INDOOR SENSOR sensor using the green/white stripe wires.

I have a question into Micro-Air tech support about where to get such a sensor. My thermostat mounts on the wall outside the bathroom. Sometimes the temp in the bathroom effects the thermostat and we leave the door cracked a bit. It would be nice to have an option to remote mount a temp sensor. It would be even nicer if they offered a wireless indoor temp sensor option. And a wireless outdoor sensor to display the outside temperature on the thermostat. Just a thought.

I will report back on what tech support says about the remote Airxcel room sensor.

I got an email back from Micro-Air on sensor. They said to search online for Airxcel room sensor. They said comes in black or white. Didn't have much luck on that search but did find the following. Not sure if they would work. Maybe?

Coleman Mach 8330-3101 Room Sensor black

Coleman Mach 8330-5191 Room Sensor white

This may work: https://www.ebay.com/itm/33370980044...eec631d6cbb8fe
The new thermostat does show the outside temperature as well as the inside. Installing a sensor in a remote location may be a bit of a challenge. Fishing the wire from the new location to the thermostat will not be easy. If you have a ceiling vent near by try adjusting it to push air toward the thermostat.
When installing the mounting screws, use a small level and mark a line. this will help keep the stat level. Use a small drill bit to make a pilot hole for the first screw. Once the spacer strap is mounted with the one screw drill the pilot hole as close to center in the other location. My screws were not well placed and it made mounting a bit difficult.

That link to a sensor matches the one I have found. Agreed, hard to route the wire. I did read about the local weather feature and that it would show the outside temperature. Micro-Air said a Bluetooth room temp sensor would be possible but no definite plans at the moment.
