I need some help!

Wife and I ride bicycles, I would like to find a two way head set that would fit in one ear and have a mic, that we could chat with each other as we ride! I been looking at all kinds of items but cant find something that is handy. I'm hoping someone can show me a link or give me some personal experience with such a project?

You can probably use a system meant for motorcycle helmets. There are a couple different styles meant for full face or open face helmets. The open face helmet units should have a boom mic. On mine, the ear piece glues into the helmet, which might be a bit tricky to overcome.

Not much help but hopefully it gives you something to consider.

Probably not perfect, but my Sena headset for my motorcycle has never failed me. I'm not a fan of the cheaper units that are available as I've had, used and thrown out.

Before going to the headsets we tried to use a PPT (push to talk) adapter on some walkies and that lasted about 1/2 a trip before we said "screw that."

This has 2 ear pieces which I know isn't ideal.

When searching Amazon for that one this one also came up. Not sure if it's a newer or older version but it's a bit cheaper.

Thanks for the options, but I think we would require a one ear item. I don't mind paying for quality. I just didn't have any idea where to start to look.

Do a search for 1/2 helmet communicators. If you wear biking helmets, those may work. You might be doing some retro-fitting and just not using the second speaker. Most com units now are stereo. I had a Scala unit that was mono once.

Walkie-talkie units are inexpensive at Walmart, or wherever. Most have a headphone jack. Yes, you'd need a breast pocket or something, but it would be mostly hands-free. It would be a $30 solution, even if you're a half mile away.

I agree, stick with one ear for safety reasons.

What about this? I didn’t know it existed until I was watching a video about their new mesh networking system.
