GPS concerns

The GPS unit on our Journey 42E does not recalculate. I had to exit the highway to get fuel and the GPS unit did not make any recalculations when I did this. It did do this in the past as I have traveled this route before. Just wondering if there is a setting that is wrong or something else I maybe missing. When we were coming home the GPS wanted to take us a different route than it did when going. It didn't do this in the past so I am stumped as to what to look for.

In your menu, settings, navigation, make sure off-route recalculation is CHECKED.

If somehow your settings were reset, check settings/route planning to select method.

I have purchased new maps, but not sure having older ones would cause your issues.

You didn't happen to have a young child with you on your last trip? Our 4 year old granddaughter just loves to use touch screens.

Had a similar problem with mine. I had checked that I didn't want to go over any toll roads and so it kept sending me to the ferry dock. Took me a few trips to figure it out. So go to settings and see what you have in your settings. You don't state the brand or model, that would help to specific answers. How old is it? Does it do this all the time or just this once? Was if a very cloudy day? I know mine takes a while to recalculate when cloudy, which is often in the PNW.

One thing I have learned about GPS is to have an alternate plan I used my Garmin from McKinney to Ft Worth & it was unreliable due to mass amounts of construction. Glad I had some local knowledge.

Did what DancinCampers suggested and that was the problem. Hope this is the fix.
