chromecast without wifi

I have an android phone and want to be able to chromecast to our RV TV. At home it works great because I have wifi. on the road I have no wifi, does anyone have a setup that would make this work?

This might help. Looks like you might need the mirroring app and a cord to connect the phone directly to the TV.

I have setup a wireless router in the RV. It works for this usage. Doesn't need any internet connection.

Keep in mind that, unless the content is stored on your phone, you'll be using your phone's data to stream the content, which may cause you to exceed your data caps.

Makes sense, so you just have them both on the same wifi network without internet. That makes sense.

Correct. I use it with my phone or iPad. I download shows and movies. Also we use it to display the days pictures on the TV. My old router isn’t able to use a park WiFi as an internet source, but there are cheap routers that can hook up to a WiFi network, and use that as the internet source. This also helps to protect your devices from unsecured networks, as you are behind your routers security.

Get an Amazon Firestick. No WiFi needed. I cast from my android phone to tv all the time. My Galaxy S20, I use smart view icon.
