CB Radio Install

Hi to all,
New to the forum and new to the lifestyle.
I have a 2005 Winnebago Adventurer 35A. It is supposed to be preformed for a CB from the factory. There is an antenna on the roof for it. The previous owner did not have one in it. I cannot find the end of the Antenna cable. I have downloaded the manual and the electrical schematic. It shows the antenna but I do not see the cable. Does anyone know where I mig ht find it?
I did try to search for this but had less luck with that than I did looking for the cable.

Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark,
Call Winnebago Service Assistance at (800) 537-1885. Give them your VIN or better still your Winnebago Serial Number. They should be able to give you the information you need or point you in the right direction. I've used them to answer quite a few questions about my coach.

My 2010 Journey came pre-wired for CB but that meant power only, no antenna. Are you sure that's a CB antenna and not a radio antenna?

UltraMark, Look up under the dash on the left side, I have seen them in a plastic bag before. They are usually tied up pretty tight.

On my 04 Horizon it was under the left dash near the floor. An RG59 cable and wire labeled CB. I have not used it, found when installing trailer brake controller.

You'll probably have to crawl under the dash and look behind the wire bundles. It might be tucked up under them

Yep,
On our '04 Horizon it was also stuck in a bundle, up under the dash, on the left side of the steering column. They tuck everything up under there. That's where my electric trailer brake wiring assembly was, the C/B setup, including the antenna cable and a hot lead for it, and even my diagnostic J1939 Data port was jammed way up in there too.

OP,
If you're sure that it's got a C/B antenna, then is most likely is there, in a bundle, (along with maybe a ton of other wires) up under that dash.

Only 2 radio?? Should be 3 rubber ducky antennas for radios (dash, bedroom, basement) and the cb antenna will be a spring-loaded metal whip. CB and one rubber ducky will be above cab.

UltraMark: I looked and looked and was absolutely sure that mine was not there. After a lot of re-searching and finally [actually] giving up on it, I [accidentally] found it wrapped tightly in a wad pushed way up inside the upper left dash. I was working on something else when I found it. No plastic bag on my 2005, though, just a black wad of wire perfectly positioned behind a dash air vent duct. \ken

Thank you all for your help with this. I am glad to report that I found the wires today. they were indeed wrapped in a plastic bag, stuffed above the heater duct work in the upper left most corner of the dash.
Looking forward to putting this project behind me before the season begins.
Safe travels to all

That's where mine was, taped to a wiring bundle. I had to use DW's hand mirror and my flashlight to see up under the dash, no room to lay on floor without removing drivers seat. When I got it out, it was just long enough to reach where a radio would mount on bottom of dash, so I added 3' of cable to make it easier on my old bones.
