Cable TV 2008 Itacsa Ellipse

Any ideas on connecting cable TV? Cable connected to campground output, into cable connect in coach. No cable on any TV. Pushed switches on brain box including aux and sat, still no cable channels. Is there a master switch somewhere in the coach that needs to be connected? First campground said they had cable problems, second and now third attempt same no connection neighbors had cable at both. 2008 Itacsa Ellipse. Thanks

You may have to go into a menu on your TV that will be either "Input" or "Source" the menu should have a number of choices to select from , one of which should say something about "cabl" and then you will need to do a "channel scan"

Had another thought....if the "neighbors" all have cable ask one of them how they got it.

Also, you need to turn off your antenna booster. This is usually a plate with a coax fitting in the center and a little black button and LED. If the LED is on, then the booster is on. Push the black button to turn it off.

If you do not have the booster as explained by Roger the BOMB (Box of Many Buttons) may be the booster. Turn it off for cable. Newer BOMBs allow for cable and booster being on as the BOMB switches separate the two.

Some campgrounds forget to tell those checking in that they need to have one of their cable boxes to view cable channels. One place we checked into required a $100 deposit for the box, with the money returned when the cable box was returned.

Thanks

Thank you for your replies. I will try the suggestions you made. I did have the antenna booster on, managed to get 4-5 air channels and 6-7 cable stations set to memory but no cable reception on those channels. The air channels worked great.

That switch toggles the connection between Air and Cable.

For Cable turn the booster Off and use your TV’s setup menu to select Cable. Then do a search for cable channels.

For OTA channels turn the booster on and use your TV’s setup menu to select Air. Then do a search for OTA channels.

You will not see any Cable channels at all when the booster is on. I’m guessing you mean your search for channels when the booster was on yielded some OTA Digital channels - not cable channels.

My last winnie didn't have the cable connected from the bay to the tv's. I would run a cable straight from the post to a tv. It was PITA.

Thinking that may be the case. Haven't had any cable access for the past week. Dry camping in state parks for the next two weeks. Going to set up direct to TV at the next opportunity. Thank you for your reply.

CMR,
In my previous 2008 Winnebago Destination I had basically the same set up. One of the nuisances was that the bedroom TV would not get cable signals and I believe it had something to do with the technology the CG was using. In the newer Lliving room TV, replaced by me, I received all signals if the switches were in the right position.

Pull out the BOMB and check the cables on the back. Make sure they are all connected and tight. They can loosen as the rolling earthquake makes its trip.
