Buzz in surround system

I have 2005 Adventurer, and have developed a buzzing in the surround speaker setup. This buzz is when using the inverter power and the radio power switch is on house battery. When I switch radio power switch on dash to engine, the buzz goes away, however I then have no sound through surround system. When on shore power there is no buzz as long as inverter is turned off. We do not use inverter much, so I do not know when this started. Suggestions???

You may be able to put an in-line noise suppressor.

I think you just diagnosed it. May be coming from the inverter. No need to have the inverter on, unless you are using it to run some AC device.

Do you have a inverter/charger like the Xantrex 458? If you are on shore power, your inverter should not be on but in standby. Are you sure it's not the battery charger?

Inverter is a small 300 watt Dimension brand located in front compartment by dvd player. I do not think it is battery charger, since that would only work on shore power, right?

my moho already has a noise suppressor installed. it just lays in the bottom of the tv compartment. mine is very sensitive to location. i wrapped my suppressor with velcro and fastened it to the bottom of the tv compartment in a location where there is no hum.
ims some folks call this thing a wart. do a forum search and you will find a lot of information on this subject.

I had the same issue and it was fixed by changing the position of the switch as follows:

If you have a switch on the right side of the dash for the radio that has "house" or "engine", try both positions.

Also if there is a switch with the choice of "tv" or "radio" try both positions

I think I may have eliminated this suppressor when installing the new LED tv.....does it go in the speaker output wires going to surround amp?

Lloyd, I am also in the process of changing out my old Sony Trinitron (CRT) TV, found a cable coming out of the back of the set with 2 phono jack plugs (r/w) and a cylinder inline which I'm told is a static suppressor. I imagine that it has to go back in the speaker output wiring harness to the surround amp. Just my guess.

I have the exact same problem in my '03 Adventurer. I played with those switches and they must be - coach/engine to coach and tv/radio to tv for the surround system to be activated. Whenever the surround system is activated the nasty hum is present It's not a problem with an active and loud program on but if there is a period of silence in the program I'll have to listen to the hum until it gets noisy again.
If anybody comes up with the cure please let me know....

I have had this problem also. But my question is: where is the surround amp? In all my poking around, I have never stumbled across it.

I don't know where it is on your gasser, but on my previous coach (03 Journey) it was under the drivers left footrest.

the surround sound uses the dash radio amp in my moho.

On my previous 03 Adventurer 33V it was mounted on the passenger sidewall, under the dash, I could see mine easily by removing dash computer tray. Also, by removing panel holding the dash air ductwork above where passenger feet rest.
