Hi Susan,
Hope you’re enjoying your Micro Minnie. It’s perfect for our needs.

Think twice about adding the weight of two bikes to the rear of the camper. You could use a ladder rack, but I wouldn’t. You can’t use the bumper. You’d need a frame hitch mount, which are expensive, and still doesn’t solve the weight issue. If your black/gray get full + bikes = squirrely towing.

One solution is a rack for the front tongue frame. Or, our solution is to mount them on a rack over the truck bed. We’ve done this for over 12,000 miles with no I’ll effects except the bikes get dirty and need to be cleaned, or the bikes get wet and need to be wiped dry and sprayed with rust inhibitor. This method also has the advantage of letting you just leave the bikes locked to the truck rack, and with no hassle, take them with you on excursions away from the camper.

^This. Make that thinking 3 or 4 times.

Bad for the travel trailer, bad for the bumper, bad for the bike rack and bad for the bikes.

As an FYI:

Also bad for anybody driving behind you on the highway when the bumper falls off. Lol

Just joined this forum recently and planning to introduce myself with my first post. Then saw your inquiry. I have a 2022 2018 FBS and also want to bring my bike along on my travels. My FBS has a 2in frame mounted receiver hitch and rated for 300# (Or so I was told.) The issue to be aware of is that if you are going to use the receiver hitch for a bike carrier, the bike carrier must be rated for RV use. Those made for SUV, trucks, cars etc will fail with a lot of bad things happening. Failure to due to the stresses but on the carrier by the bouncing, sway, bumps and generally rough ride of travel trailers. Thule is the brand I went with mainly because of reputation and quality. The RV model, Thule Range Hitch Bike Rack, is significatly stronger and heavier for RV use. But on the other side, pricing runs close to $500.00 per. You can check on Amazon for latest cost. Hope this helps in your search for information and options Safe travels and enjoy your new MM
