2020 Minnie Winnie stereo has to go...

Hey fellow Winnebago owners!

We recently took possession of a brand new 2020 Minnie Winnie 31K. I'm in the process of fixing all the little niggly issues that come with a new coach and upgrading the things that I think need upgrading to meet my needs.

The Pioneer head unit that came with the unit isn't awesome. The bluetooth connectivity to my iPhone gets really flaky when you pair with Bluetooth then plug the phone into the USB plug that comes out of the stereo, the head unit doesn't have built in nav, and it's missing modern features like Car Play. There are tons of great aftermarket head units that will fit in the dash opening.

My number one concern/question has to do with the coach's camera system. When you put the motorhome in reverse, the rear camera activates. Most of the head units I would install come with support for a back-up camera so no problem there. The more interesting bit is the cameras on the side mirrors. Left turn signal turns on the left mirror camera and right turn signal turns on the right mirror camera.

In looking through the specs of the Pioneer stereo that's installed it only mentions support for one back-up camera so Winnebago has done something unique.

My question...

Has anyone upgraded a Winnebago with the side cameras and if so, how does that work with car stereos that only support a single backup camera? I'm assuming there's some sort of A/V switching device that's separate from the stereo. Is there a schematic that I can look at? I've heard Winnebago publishes all schematics but I haven't been able to find them.

Thanks in advance!

Aaron

Yes, I recently threw out the Pioneer head on my 2014 Sightseer and replaced it with a JVC unit. I got the new head from Walmart online, with an XM adapter for about $190.
Anyway, the cameras feed a single output from a junction switch between the 3 cameras and the head, in my case it's a white RCA output cable (there's a dual red/white cable, that caught me off guard and I took a while to figure it out). The new bluetooth works with 2 phones, and the XM is a real plus. HTH
