2015 42E radio steering wheel remote

This remote works once here and there. I'm told by the dealer a replacement isn't available. Anyone experience similar problem?

Here and there? Do you mean it only works when it is at the bottom of the wheel and when the steering wheel is turned with the remote up that it doesn't work? The remote if I am thinking of the one mounted at the wheel bottom center is battery powered and not hard wired. I bought one from Lichtsinn RV for about $90 and would guess they are still available. The signal does not reach the radio at all locations on a turning steering wheel.

If it's like my 2014 it's a ir remote mounted to the steering wheel. Down low on the column you should see a sensor that picks up the signal. If your legs are in the way or the wheel is turned it won't see the sensor. The sensor also has a wire that runs to the radio that can accidently get unplugged. Other thing could be is near dead batteries.

When I start up it works once and then not at aii. The coach is new used 4 months, the dealer has fiddled with it 3 times now and no change.

I had exactly the same experience with my 2013 Meridian, dealer just kept replacing batteries. Called Lichtsinn, got a new unit within 3 days, took about 20 minutes to replace (pull off horn cover to see how it bolts in). No problems since.

Check the plug for the sensor at the bottom of the steering column. It is wrapped with electrical tape.

Not odd at all. The steering wheel is like your tv remote, you have to point it at the tv? There is a sensor located on the steering column. Have you found that yet? it needs to be in line of sight with the steering wheel remote.

Had same problem. Called Winne Help Desk. They told me the connector behind the steering column (the IR receiver location) was unplugged. Thought they were nuts! But, correct they were! Seems if you move your feet around under the dash while you drive, you can accidentally pull the plug. Works good ever since.
