2006 Adventurer 38j Dash Radio size?

So went to pick up my new to me 2006 Adventurer 38j today and was told that the stock dash radio was not working and that the dealer would replace it before delivery. Frankly, not excited about the stock radio and was thinking about upgrading to a radio that has an Apple CarPlay and Sirius/XM receiver and since the dealer will install it free and give me a credit equal to the cost of the stock unit this is the time to do it. I’ve read that the opening for the dash radio is non-standard, bigger than 1 din but smaller than 2 din. I think I saw it was a 1.8 din. Can anyone who has replaced the dash radio confirm whether the opening is a 1, 2 or non-standard din? And if you have replaced the radio, what have you replaced it with?

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me with this issue.

Hey JC I see you had the same problem I just ran into, how did they or you solve it?

Thanks and safe travels. I’m gonna try to stuff a double din in mine. Love to hear how they did it.

Wish I could tell you its been resolved but I’m still dinking around with it. The dealer wants to put another stock radio in it… I want to upgrade but am told that “they aren’t an audio shop”. One of my local audio shops think they can find something that will work but I’m a little worried about how it’s going to look.

Alpine 1 din with an adapter

Hey Jc I decided I did not want to booger up my dash so….had this older alpine, has Bluetooth, what I was looking for it has a plastic face attachment that snaps into the original hole and works great even with the tv/radio switch.

I can send pics if you want, tomorrow, also on eBay there are many aftermarket single din radios that have pop out 7 inch touch screens if those are what you are looking for and they are easy to hookup course I say that as an old ham radio operator

Safe travels
