2003 Journey - Ripped out Speakers and Amp...
I purchased last summer a 2003 Winnebago Journey 32TD that needed some tender loving care. One of the stranger things the previous owner did was completely rip out the "surround sound" system from under the dash by the driver's feet, sliced all the wiring, and ripped out all the cube speakers both in the cap and by the kitchen. I have managed to trace the wires that lead to the speakers in all four areas and what I believe are the two subwoofers where the couch meets the kitchen and under and to the left of the driver. I'm now looking to figure out an audio solution that incorporates inputs from the television.
I'd like to replace the rear view monitor with a head unit/radio that can display video input from the original rear camera receiver that I'll tuck away behind the dash. I'm wondering if anyone has any advice for replacement audio systems or have replaced the original amplifier setup with a more innovative approach. If replacing the original amp is the best idea, any ideas on what unit specifically I should buy that can support all the speakers?
I also appear to have enclosures for speakers in the bedroom that are empty and from those wires, I have no clue where they end up. If anyone has gotten anything installed and working in a similar setup, I'd appreciate advice.
Thank you in advance - I've been racking my brain online with these questions for countless hours and have not gotten very far at all, so any ideas are very appreciated.
