Wheel opening covers

Does anyone know where you can buy the "Flat Vinyl Curtain Type" covers that attach to the wheel opening and drape down to cover the tire? Need to cover 295 75 22.5 tires and wheels. Please reply by PM

MCD quit making them a few years back. At that time their price was about $600 to do all three axles on a tag. I did find a person who makes cover for boats and also makes these wheel well covers and they are good quality, but for the tag model about $1,000. I know the cost of materials have gone high, but that is a lot unless you are going to keep the coach forever.

Mine are a very heavy duty screen. They snap onto the sides of the coach and hang straight down. They were made by Wade RV at the Lazy Days in Seffner Florida.

Another option is the fairly new tire shades made by Magne Shade

They cover just the tire and have a very "clean" look, many people don't even notice I have them installed until I point them out! They're easy to install if you do so before dumping the airbags (provides more room to reach around in the wheel well). There's a bit of a trick to folding them for storage, but once you learn it they are super-compact and come with a nice storage bag.

I have had a full set of their magnetic window shades for years and love them. They're a small company with friendly and responsive folks.

Good luck!

Couldn't swallow the expensive prices for curtain type cover from CW etc. Then I saw a guy in our RV resort in Gold Canyon AZ custom making them out of the back of his truck. Cost was way less than half of the alternatives. He also make custom windshield cover etc. on site. He is even going to cut down and refit the old ones for our new rig. Don't know where he summers, but he is in the Apache Junction area during the winter. Call Allen 888-505-6809 or 903-880-2832.

I believe they were just under $300 when I purchased them almost two years ago. I think there's a form on their site that you can fill out for a quote. Of course, you'll pay more if you're running a tag-axle (I'm not).
