Using tow vehicle's spare on a trailer?
Hi all,
I'm new to this forum and new to the RV world. We just got a 2019 Minnie Drop 190BH, tow vehicle is an old Chevy Trailblazer. We've gone out on a few short trips, and looking forward to more this summer.
We currently have a spare for the trailer mounted to the trailer's rear bumper. I'd like to save the weight and space (maybe mount a bike rack back there) but don't like the idea of traveling without a spare.
Could we use the tow vehicle spare tire on the trailer, if the need arises? Until we could replace the trailer tire with a proper one? The tire specs are not a match - TV is 245/65R17, trailer is 235/75R15. That makes the TV tires about 0.6" larger in diameter. If I'm out in the sticks and need to drive 100 miles like this to get a proper spare, will I damage anything?
Thanks for your input.
Eric
