Even if you have low mileage on your tires, it is recommended that you replace them every 4 to 5 years. It is a big expense...we just did it in Oct. 07,and then sold our coach in Jan. 08. But at the time we weren't sure we were going to order a new coach. Now the new owner does not have to worry for awhile. New tires are a lot cheaper than the alternative!

Although no manufacturer will give you an exact time or mileage both Goodyear and Michellin say they should be inspected regularly and "should be good for about 7 years" (per both the Goodyear and Michellin reps at the 2005 GNR) providing there issufficient tread, no evidence of cracking, and no abnormal wear.

Having said that we changed the tires on our 01 Adventurer in January of 06. They had about 50,000 miles on them and showed no signs of cracking. We did have an alignment problem that caused the left front to wear on the outer edge. Since we were going to Alaska later in the year we opted to change all 6 rather than take a chance.

We have about 15,000 on the new tires and all is well.

I suggest those with Michelin RV tires read Michelin's Technical Bulletin, "Service Life for RV Tires".

I agree that inspecting the tires regularly is a good idea. But in our case we had a bubble form on the sidewall on the front drivers side. We just decided after that to have them all replaced. Upon pulling the back inside tires off it was discovered they were showing the same problem. Something we could not see without removing them. Michelin has taken it under advisement and we may get something paid towards our new tires. Still waiting to hear.

Finhawk,
We've got a 2000' adventurer too. We replaced the steer tires 3 years ago. Replaced the other 4 drive tires this year. Actually had to replace 5 tires due to a replacement blowing out last August. (GDYR covered the tire fully). The old tires looked perfect when they were taken off, but they were 8-1/2 years old. Replacing tires after 4-5 years doesn't make sense as they are guaranteed for 5 years. With that said we do exercise the tires a minimum of once a month to get the oils back out to the surface. At a FMCA rally the GDYR guy said that RVIA recommends tire changes at 5-7 years, HE DID NOT SAY GDYR DOES! He said to inspect your tires carefully & feel them for lumps & bumps & replace as needed.
My first car was a 1950 Studebaker Champion, it was good but no match for the new ones.
