After reading the positive comments relating to this product I'm ready to order two pairs of these valves. Question--can anybody confirm the air line size for the front and back on a '07 Meridan with a '06 XC chassis. I can't get to the coach right now but would like to get the equipment ordered.
Thanks

Rich F,

As it says in their info be careful when measuring and be sure to check both the front and rear lines as they can be different. Just because we think theyn are all the same it can depend when they were put together. I have an '07 Meridian, supposedly same as the Journey, but I would hate to give you bad info.

Mike

They should be 1/2" front and 1/4" rear, that is what is on my 07 Journey/06 XC chassis.. That said, get a 1/2" and 1/4" open end wrench, crawl under and check. The wrench opening will give you the measurements you seek.

I've wanted to order these for some time now but when I tried to measure the rear ones, it was all I could do to reach the tops of the rear air bags to measure the lines let alone be able to cut and insert the units. The fronts will be a snap. If I remember they measured 1/2" in front and 1/4" in back but don't hold me to it, I've slept since I measured them. Has anyone actually installed the rear control units themselves? If so what problems did you incur?

I installed a set on my '04 Meridian yesterday. Front was 1/2" and rear was 1/4". An easy job - just make sure you make a clean, straight cut on the tubing.

Test drive revealed that they virtually eliminated the "Wal-Mart wobble" - a significant improvement!

Mine was 1/2 in the front and 1/4 inch in the rear. Very easy to install. Big difference in the ride

Red T , jimandsue60 - Thanks for the responses. Can you elaborate any on the problem/problems reaching the tops of the rear bags? I look at the fronts and they will be a snap. I look at the back ones (what little I can see) and wonder how double-jointed I would need to be and how I can do that much by feel alone. And if by chance there should be a leak after installation (I'm a real pessimest) there's really no room for adjustments. I can see that the right rear could be doable but that left rear could be a real bear. That's what has kept me from ordering them for over a year now. It is encouraging to see that some owners can do it themselves.

Several of us posted our install notes on this thread in the freightliner forum, http://irv2.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/7841040402/m/1741097683/p/1

Okay, I finally decided to put in my order. Wouldn't you know it, you guys have already bought them all out! I got notification that they hope to be restocked by the middle of next week. Oh well, don't have plans to go anywhere till next month.

wagonmaster2, I ran the jacks down to raise the rear a bit (wheels still on ground) dumped the air, put jack under frame rail and crawled under.

My only issue was ensuring that my cut was clean and straight. Access wasn't that difficult. Come on down where it's a bit warm (107 today) and I'll help you! <G>

Disregard my question please, I see now that it works in conjunction with the levelers and dumps when they are activated.
