Well we have been busy customizing our RV to our desires. We did two major upgrades. First, we had the old tube RV and cabinets ripped out. We had a 32" LCD Samsung installed. While we were at it, we had the DVD/Surround system replaces with a Samsung unit with a lower profile. We also had the in motion sat put on top of the rig so the DirectTV box was also installed. We took the clean/slick installation route and had to give up a little storage space to get this look, but the outcome is a completely flush, uncluttered look.

The exterior pics show the Accuride wheels we had put on. We are still missing rear center caps (having a tough time finding the right ones!) but otherwise, this "bling" upgrade looks great. Hated the wheel sims.

Let me know what you think! The installer is a lead tech at a local RV service shop and did the TV stuff as "side work". Very happy.

Looks pretty nice. I have not seen the flush type of install before.

How was the installation of the LCD TV accomplished with regard to the steel casing that the original TV is installed in. It seems that in order to install a 32" TV you have to do quite a bit of disassembly.

Thanks for the comments guys!

Harry.. While I didnt watch the process (I would have probably cried seeing our baby being torn apart), I do know that he had to rip the entire steel casing out. He basically ripped it down to nothing, then started with a flat mount bracket. NOTHING I WOULD DO MYSELF! The most technical I get it putting diesel in and checking air pressures.

P.S. Someone asked me via PM in another forum so I will state here. The exterior shots are at our home. We had 75 feet of concrete (7"+ thick)"extended" to our driveway behind the fence and had a 50amp power post put in. The RV's front bumper is usually wher the Civic's front bumper is - we had it pulled up to hook the toad for the trip.

No, we dont camp at home, but wanted a nice pad to store and keep power on.

Jeff - I agree. That is why we did the driveway this past summer (FIRST!). Its nice.

Tom - the wheels were right around $2k for the set of 4. The inner duals were left "alone". Got them from A-OK Tire here in town. Looked all over the net and ended up driving down the street and the place ordered them and had them in next day.

Slick look, but I would not want to give up the storage compartments up front!

Wow! I am in the process of replacing the old RCA 26" crt in our 03 Horizon with a Sony 32" LCD. I have removed the old TV and have devised a mounting system to flush mount the new TV without losing the cabinets on either side. The new TV can not be over 31"x 22" to do this install. I do not have any pics. but will make some as we now stand and post later.

Nice custom installation, and I like the wheels.

Oh-one; please post some pics of you install process. I, for one, am interested in this approach.

Capt.Bill - I wasnt present for the install. I realize now I should have left him my camera to snap a few shots but neglected to. I can certainly get details from our guy from you if you are seriously considering this route. He would probably have no problem talking with you - super nice guy. Like I said, we plucked him out of the local Winnebago dealership service area as a "side work" guy.

flashajt, as far as getting center caps for your rear wheel. Did you try a Freightliner dealer? You do have a Freightliner chassis.
Secondly, have you had a Winnie dealer checkout getting them for you? Third, contact Accuride and see what they can do for you........jm2cw!

It looks GREAT !

Raca - believe it or not, we originally ordered the Accuride wheels from Freightliner only to wait over 5 weeks for the WRONG WHEELS! I was blown away that the chasis manu. couldnt even order the correct wheels. Local tire shop got them next day.

I was about to contact Accuride - but did pick up some caps at a truck accessory shop and they worked perfectly! Just got them installed yesterday.

flashajt,
glad to see that you got your caps for your wheels.
I bought a full set from Spartan for an older Dutch Star I had. They sent everything with the wheels. That was a real good thing.....

I appreciate the offer to talk with your guy, but I wouldn't want to take up his time, since this planned upgrade is something that I would be doing. I was mainly interested in what was fabricated to secure the TV in place.

I haven't started working the project yet, so I may come up with a good plan by the time I do, and Oh-One said he may be posting some pictures of his upgrade

Capt.Bill - if this helps, I know this much.

Entire old frame was ripped out. I saw it in the garbage pile. Then new frame was built (welded). He used an piece of a bed frame for part of it, and a flat mount LCD bracket from Circuit City. He said he loves bed frames becuase it is the strongest metal to start working with vs. stuff that you can snap in half.
