Just attended the Workhorse Rally at Urbanna, Va
what a great time we had.

While there I purchased Safe T Plus installed and on the drive home it was outstanding. No wandering, moving the steering wheel and almost like driving a car.

All of my fears of wasting the money on a "gadget" that didn't work were unfounded. I think I could drive 10 hours without being fatigued. No interst in the Company, just a satisfied buyer...Good Miles

Add me to the list of Safe T Plus fans. I just posted my experience on the Freightliner Chasis forum. Just love it and they are working on a new model which will have a trim adjustment to help in cross winds!

Jim and Rick:

I also have the Safe T Plus on my rig and it seems to work very well. However, I really liked the adjustability of the Blue Ox Tru Center I had before they recalled it and it then became unavailable. Interesting that Safe T Plus plans to offer an adjustable unit...that would be great.

Wonder if Blue Ox ever released a new-and- improved Tru Center???

I agree on the adjustability feature. I know it should be out within a month and Henderson's is supposed to give me a call when it's available. If I understand it correctly, the Safe T Plus is not manufactured by Henderson's Super Steer line but I believe the adjustability feature will be and offered by them directly.

Since steering stabilizers are primarily used for minimizing the impact of unexpected road hazards (i.e. wind, trucks, pot holes), how do you know where to make the adjustments? In other words, since you don't know what you're going to encounter at any given moment, what do you base your adjustment on? I currently have a Safe-T-Plus stabilizer and really like the product. However, the best part for me is that I don't have to dub with the thing. It just does it's job.

See inital post in this thread.

Steering stabilizers also help stop your coach from "wandering". Keeps it going straight down the road.

From the Instructions. While driving on a straight stretch of road, vehicle should easily follow a straight course, if not, adjustment is necessary.

To adjust, hold steering wheel in a straightforward position, stop vehicle, and set brakes. Loosen nuts on tie rod U-bolts and allow unit to self-center. (Frequently this movement in not noticeable). Retighten nuts and test drive again. Repeat this step if necessary until vehicle will hold a straight line.

So there you have it direct from the instruction sheet. And yes this should be done after alignment and all other components checked out. Good Miles

Thanks for the insight. As I recall, the place that sold me the Safe-T-Plus alligned it as part of the installation process. However, it sounds like these units may get out of allignment now and then.
